Certifiable Total Recall

Plenty to get to this week as we tackle some news in television and talk films and "the next Lost" before getting to the main course, FX's Justified, which returned three weeks ago. We talk about the characters, Elmore Leonard, the on screen chemistry and tone of the show, plus the hopes of the show runner. Justified convo spins into other TV at times but the guys do their best to keep it on track. In what will go down as a famous (or infamous) moment for CTR, Andy and Jason put you in the studio with them as they randomly conversed while the tapes were rolling. The main topic shifts from Ving Rhames to Melanie Griffith, from the worst film titles ever to horrible family portraits online and so much more. It wasn't the plan, but it provided so much random entertainment we decided to release it to show you just how INSANE these two gentlemen are. A standard What's Happening segment kicks it off. We're BACK! Hectic holidays and vicarious vacations have kept us away for a few weeks, but CTR is back on its weekly schedule. This is the FINAL episode of 2011, split into three parts for easier consumption. In P1 the guys -

The boys are back in town! No, this isn't a 48 Hours podcast, we mean YOUR BOYS - JMart and AVan, along with friend of the program, Adam Jordan. The discussion centers on the Die Hard movie quadrilogy (and soon to be "quin") but not before we tackle a triple header of what's been going on in each of our lives in an elongated What's Happening segment. It's a fun discussion, do keep in mind it was recorded a few weeks ago so some of the current information may not have already happened. We welcome friend of the program, Adam Jordan, into the discussion as we have a little fun for a few minutes and then move things into an ultra-serious mode as we remember our good friend, Roy Weisenborn, whose life was cut tragically short two weeks ago in an early morning car accident. The trio share some of their favorite Roy stories, talk about what made the man so special, reminisce, and close with one of his favorite songs, Orion. Mere hours before the Season 6 world premiere, CTR stops in to take a look back at our favorite Miami-Dade County police analyst. After a few quick takes on recent films and a few other random convos... including the unboxing of Jason's early birthday present ON AIR - the boys speak on Dexter, Deb, Rita, Chang, and all the rest. The seasons are ranked, favorite antagonists are picked, the books are discussed briefly, and your fearless leaders speak on Season 6 ahead of time. Delayed due to a tragedy close to the show - next week - a tribute to a good friend, Roy Weisenborn, featuring special guests. The rest of Fox's fall 2011 schedule tops the agenda, including the anticipated mid-season replacement, Alcatraz. Jason and Andy look at the highs and lows for Fox and give their prognosis on what's to come. Then folks, it gets really random as a Home Improvement reunion photo shoot leads to a more in depth "what if" conversation and the boys finish with a few lighthearted football takes, including Tony "backwards Starter cap" Romo.

Part 1 features an expanded What's Happening, where we talk on Andy's sneak preview viewing of 50/50, Jason's book reviews, a quick take on ESPN opinion shows, and a rant on Best Buy's egregious use of stickers on Blu-Ray cardboard sleeves. The talk gets into Fox late in the first half, making it through Monday. By the way, Andy really doesn't care about Terra Nova.
